What is Commuter Choice?

I-395/95 Commuter Choice funds projects to improve the reliability and efficiency of travel along the corridor by moving more peak-period, peak-direction travelers and expanding the range of attractive travel options for commuters. Funded projects must benefit toll payers of the I-395/95 corridor.

About the Proposed Projects

The 14 funding applications represent transportation improvements put forward by Arlington County, the City of Alexandria, Fairfax County, OmniRide, Virginia Railway Express, and WMATA. The proposed projects include enhancements to existing bus service, a new bus route, and rail station improvements. The proposed projects would provide additional travel options for commuters up and down the I-395/95 corridor.

How to Submit Comments

We’re seeking your feedback on the 14 proposed projects under consideration for Commuter Choice funding. To provide your comments, you can:

All feedback will be shared with NVTC’s Commissioners prior to approval of a program of projects. 

* Individuals wishing to provide testimony via voicemail message will be allowed up to three minutes to provide recorded testimony. All testimony will be transcribed and submitted into the public record.
